  • Director, Risk Management

    Under the general direction of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's (MGUH) Vice President of Medical Affairs and MedStar Health's Vice President for Risk Management Services, directs, designs, implements and maintains the MGUH Risk Management Program with a focus on clinical risk identification, risk prevention and risk control.

    Required Education/Training:

    • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Nursing or a related field is required.
    • Master's degree and Juris Doctorate preferred.
    • Certification in Professional Health Risk Management (CPHRM).
    • If nurse, licensure in the District of Columbia is required.


    Required Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years of risk management experience in a healthcare environment or related field; 5-10 years of direct clinical experience is preferred.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze and develop comprehensive reports.
    • Ability to motivate and work independently with relevant clinical environment and administrative experience.

  • Director of Patient Safety and Accreditation

    GBMC HealthCare is currently recruiting for a Director of Patient Safety and Accreditation.  This is an exciting position responsible guiding our already successful patient safety program, our regulatory/accreditation activities and the grievance resolution and peer review process for both the medical center and physician practices.  The position supervises 5 talented individuals and will be part of a dynamic team reporting to the VP for Quality and Patient Safety.

  • Risk Management Consultant

    The Risk Management Consultant works under the direction of the Director of Risk Management to identify and mitigate patient safety risks. The Consultant maintains an understanding of patient safety and risk management practices, and serves as coordinator and consultant for review of patient safety events, and evaluation of litigation exposure, as well as interfaces with claims management staff and legal defense counsel regarding claims and the professional liability program.
